在歐美日本，家長都重視教導小朋友下廚，因為廚藝需要花心思構想採用甚麼食材、調料，整個烹飪過程讓小朋友不知不覺發揮創造力，並訓練他們的組織能力。而烹飪很需要專注力，可培養小孩子做事專注和有耐性。同時，在煮食時有可能出現未預料到的變量，可讓小朋友學習如何應付和解決，培養應變能力。
I Can Cook 是專為小朋友」食育養成」所精心設計的內容，讓小朋友們除了能夠透過實作課程，親自體驗到西點烘焙、西式創意料理的種種樂趣，還能透過主題技法的導說、動態的手作教學，讓小朋友在輕鬆而循序漸進的氣氛裡，快樂地享受學習廚藝的樂趣。在潛移默化中，教導小朋友對每一項食材的認識與尊重，使他們更加珍惜食物，也能從親自烘焙出的成品中，獲得特具意義的成就感~~!!
煮食要溝通，所以語言能力表達會比較強，可以幫助語言發展。
第一，當我們煮食時會想先放油還是甚麼材料，
第二，會令到我們邏輯思維會靈活些，
第三是人際關係會比較好，因為廚藝這方面是要一組人的。
第四是肢體配合，我們可以發掘和可以培養小朋友多元智能。
台灣的父母往往很小心保護小孩子，害怕他們入廚房會發生危險。其實只要家長在旁細心指導和觀察，配合適當設備和廚具，小朋友下廚也可以很安全。
CBeebies has commissioned Initial, an Endemol Company, to produce a brand new cookery show, I Can Cook.
Aimed to get under-sixes in the kitchen, the series will celebrate a hands-on approach to cooking and discover the magic of the full cycle of food. From the field to the fork, children will learn to connect what's on their plate everyday with the world around them.
With a selection of specially-tailored simple recipes, top cookery tips and the chance to get a bit messy, the children will learn how to grow it, cook it and eat it.
Hosted by newcomer Katy Ashworth, the series is set in a bespoke kitchen studio, specially created for under-sixes.
For each programme, Katy will welcome five children into the I Can Cook kitchen to create a recipe a day. Together they will come from and how some foods are made as well as learning some simple kitchen and cookery skills.
There will also be plenty of joining-in songs about washing hands and laying the table as well as action songs for lots of kitchen fun.
Katy invites a group of young cooks to join her in her kitchen to make delicious Carrot and Courgette Muffins. They take a trip into the I Can Cook garden to find out how carrots grow and have lots of messy fun cooking up their own delicious muffins.

因為是網路上找到的 不是自己的空間 所以無法26集上傳
Melody也喜歡看保健醫學食品營養烹調的書 所以拔爸除了圖書館借的書以外 另外找一些影片讓她看
